Summer school: Big data in health research

The interactive summer course on big data in health research provides students with clear insights regarding the challenges and opportunities of big data in health research. For example, in biomedical sciences, researchers increasingly make new discoveries from big data, by pooling data from multiple sources including electronic healthcare records in order to detect diseases at an early stage or to assess the effectiveness and efficacy of medical interventions. During this course, you will be introduced to the field of big data. Many examples from various medical research using big data will be discussed. These examples range from psychiatry to cardiology, and from imaging to registry-based randomized trials.

This summer school, jointly organized by University College London (UCL) and University Medical Center Utrecht (UMCU) will take place from 19-23 August, 2019 in Utrecht, The Netherlands. More information about the course and how to apply can be found here.
