BigData@Heart annual meeting, 28-29 March in Valencia, Spain

The BigData@Heart project convened its Annual Meeting at end of March in Valencia, Spain. We were grateful that INCLIVA could host the consortium for the second annual meeting. A total of 60 scientists gathered to report on the progress of their work and to exchange ideas. Several researchers presented work from the on-going case studies and work packages. For example, an overview of all HF, ACD and AFib databases throughout Europe was presented and a plan to digitize the overview was proposed. We began alignment on potential preferred ICD 9 & 10 Codes for Heart Failure for use in EHR-based research for HF subphenotyping. A discussion of the use of machine learning concepts and ideas about the use wearable devices in trial were presented. Also, upcoming papers, congress sessions and webinars were planned.
